SSC Industries was founded in 1988 by Christopher Prince. At this time Chris's goal was to provide the Vancouver market with architectural corian and acrylic surfaces for single-family homes. Chris's son Quinn started working for the company over summers and on weekends at the age of 13. In 2003 Quinn graduated high school and decided to start working for SSC Countertops LTD but more commonly known as SSC. Quinn spent the first 10 years of his career training under his father and other senior team members. He was given the opportunity to spend time in every department including estimating, site measuring, drafting, programming, machining, machine maintenance, and millwrighting. His true passion at the time was focused around fabricating, cutting, and installing custom natural stone work for single-family luxury homes. When Quinn was 27 years old, he took over the company from his father and began building a strong core of senior team leaders in all departments. This allowed him to remain focused on the final installation of the product we were providing.

Quinn's goal is to continue providing our clients with the highest level of quality, precision, and service in our industry. Chris and Quinn have always believed that investing in technology and machinery would make the business more efficient. This is the key to providing our designers, builders, and clients with a consistently accurate product that matches exactly what they envisioned.

SSC has spent 30 years building a team of 40 highly skilled experts with a vast experience in the natural stone industry. We have created departments in critical areas of the business to make sure we can consistently deliver a product that exceeds our clients' expectations. In 2017 SSC moved into a brand new 16,000-square-foot purpose-built facility in South Burnaby. Acquiring this modern location pre-construction allowed us to customize the foundation to include specific drainage to support our state-of-the-art water recycling facility. During this process, we integrated foundations to house our overhead cranes and material handling systems. We also invested in new Italian automation and 5-axis CNC equipment from Breton and Denver for our expansion. Along with this, we introduced a Taglio Vision slab scanner. This machine creates an accurate dimensional representation and photo of each specific slab. We use these scans to create 3D renderings to show clients and designers exactly how their slabs will be laid out, cut, and installed. These layouts more importantly show the client how the veining and patterns will align at seams, mitres and waterfalls. This way they can envision how the stone they fell in love with actually looks in their home.
